The Indiana Department of Natural Resources is encouraging you to start off the new year by spending time at state parks.

State parks around the country, including those in Indiana, will be offering First Day Hikes on January 1. On this day, you and other nature enthusiasts can hike and enjoy time outdoors.

Some state park inns will also be offering meals, so you can have a full day without running on an empty stomach.
