Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb issued an executive order on Monday to expedite the transportation of propane within the state.
The order grants exemption from local and federal regulations that limit the hours of service for drivers and motor carriers transporting propane in Indiana.
According to the order, around 500,000 people in Indiana depend on propane gas to heat their homes, businesses, schools, and public buildings.
Due to the extreme cold weather that the state has been experiencing this week, there has been a significant surge in demand for propane gas.
