The man found trapped inside his vehicle for nearly a week is headed home after three weeks of recovery in the hospital.

Matt Reum has been healing at Memorial Hospital since he was found in the crash.

He issued a statement upon being discharged from the hospital, thanking the members of the community who have supported him mentally and emotionally during the time.

He also thanked the nurses, assistants, doctors and all healthcare workers who played a part in his recovery.

He said that the support he has received has been one of the biggest factors in his healing and that while he may be a little slower getting around, he plans on moving forward toward a life he is proud of, having been given a second chance.
