A Niles man shot a Michigan State Police trooper more than two years ago and has been in prision.

Now, he might be resentenced, after a Michigan Court of Appeals ruling. The court says the Berrien County Trial judge made a mistake during the initial sentencing, not explaining why the decision for consecutive prison terms were made.

26-year-old Isaac Ntabaazi was convicted of a slew of charges, including reckless use of a firearm causing injury and carrying a concealed weapon.

Leader Publications reports he was given multiple sentences to be served at the same time.
