A man is facing battery charges in connection to a shooting at Arby’s last month.

The incident happened on February 21 at the Arbys on W. McKinley Avenue. Court documents say police arrived on scene to find a man laying on the ground, bleeding from gunshot wounds to his head and torso.

Witnesses said 21-year-old Dravyn Maxie and two male friends were parked in the parking lot when one man entered the restaurant and the others waited in the car.

When a Ford Focus pulled into the lot with four people inside, Maxie reportedly approached the Focus, showed a firearm and began to shout for someone to get out of the car.

A man exited the car, and witnesses say they heard multiple shots fired. The victim was taken to the hospital where he lost an eye and is now paralyzed from the waist down.

Maxie has been charged with three different counts of battery.
