Man sentenced to 105 years after pleading guilty to murder

A man accused in the murder, last year, of a woman on Ashland Avenue in South Bend, has been sentenced to 105 years in prison.
D’Drea Bostic, 26, pleaded guilty to murder and attempted robbery charges, as well as a firearm enhancement and for being a habitual offender.
Prosecutors say Bostic pistol-whipped his victim, Rachel Havrick, 46, and shot her multiple times in front of her children in the midst of a robbery.
As part of the plea agreement, the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office agreed to dismiss Felony Murder and Burglary counts.
Co-defendants Erica Elie and Devon Briggs and are scheduled to be sentenced on March 12, 2024 for their roles in this attempted robbery and murder.
