A man seeking U.S. citizenship was found guilty of child molestation last week.

Police say between March 2019 and September 2021, 47-year-old Douglas Jimenez Bernal touched two young girls on several occasions.

Around 30 letters were submitted to the court from family and friends who were shocked at the verdict, mostly commenting positively on Jimenez Bernal’s character.

The defense attorney commented that Jimenez Bernal’s dream of becoming a U.S. citizen would no longer be possible after the sentencing and asked for the minimum 20-year sentence.

According to The Goshen News, he was found guilty on three counts of child molesting and was sentenced to a total of 46 years in prison.

So, how many of the shocked family and friends commenting on the verdict are actually legal citizens?

Shocked at verdict ? It’s about time we start cracking down on pedophiles . Shocked? What about the young ladies their lives have changed forever. I mean, he was found guilty. He took away something they can never get back. His life need not be the same. I applauded the judge and jury for keeping men like this away from my friends and family. Why should he get to live a normal life while the young girls live in fear . I say lock him up and throw away the key!!!
