Man, 18, found shot and killed along Portsmouth Drive in Elkhart

On Saturday evening, May 25th, at about 9:10 p.m., the Elkhart City 911 Communications Center received a 911 call of a shooting with injuries in the area of the 1000 block of Portsmouth Dr. Elkhart City Police Department officers dispatched and arrived in the area shortly thereafter.

 

An Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office deputy in the area also arrived and observed a male shooting victim near a pond directly behind 1000 Portsmouth Dr. Law enforcement officers rendered first aid, but the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. He has been identified as Travelle Moore, 18 years old of Elkhart.

 

At this time, no arrests have been made, and this is an active and on-going investigation. The Elkhart County Homicide Unit was activated and took over the investigation, per protocol. All further inquiries regarding the status of the investigation should be directed to the Homicide Unit.
