Juvenile shot in road rage incident in construction zone on I-80/94

A juvenile is recovering after being shot in an apparent road rage incident in a construction zone.

Indiana State Police troopers were called just before 3:30 p.m. CDT on Monday, June 3, to the 7000 block of Madison St. in Hammond to investigate a report of a shooting that had occurred on I-80/94 near Calumet Avenue.

A juvenile had sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot injury as a result of the incident that had taken place in the construction zone just east of the Indiana/Illinois state line.

The Indiana State Police Criminal Investigations Division responded to the scene and is actively working on this investigation.
