Elkhart Community Schools has hired two new staff members to serve student-athletes and coaches in the corporation.
It’s part of the corporation’s collaboration with Beacon Health System to serve the over 600 student-athletes and 150 coaches.
Emma Schmidt will join the schools as an athletic trainer who will work alongside the current ECS athletic trainer to support the continued growth, well-being and safety of the student-athletes.
The second new-hire, Conner Glon, will serve as a wellness performance specialist.
He’ll be implementing before and after-school programs for the high school athletic teams as well as acting as a strength and conditioning coach and collaborating with the high school’s fitness classes.
Together, the corporation and Beacon Health Systems are working to keep students active and safe.
