Leading police on a chase in a stolen vehicle landed one man behind bars on Monday.
Police say they tried to stop the stolen vehicle near Portage Avenue and King Street but the driver, 41-year-old Timothy Welch, sped away.
However, the chase ended a short time later at Lincoln Way West and Wilber Street after Welch crashed, with two other vehicles involved.
The people inside the other vehicles were taken to the hospital for minor injuries, and Welch was taken to the hospital before being booked in the St. Joseph County Jail. He’s facing several charges related to the chase.
