The South Bend Cubs said goodbye to their longtime mascot, Swoop, on Sunday.
The team honored the beloved silver hawk’s 28 years as mascot during their game against the Beloit Sky Carp.
Swoop, who first appeared in 1996 as the face of the South Bend Silver Hawks, has been a cherished part of the team’s history and became a mentor to Stu the Cub when the team joined the Chicago Cubs in 2015.
