A Buchanan woman was pronounced dead after her car crashed into a tree.

The collision happened around 2 a.m. on Sunday, Sep. 1, in the 8400 north block of County Road 500 East.

Investigators say the vehicle, driven by Brandy Hardway, 29, veered off the road, crossed both lanes, and struck a tree.

The LaPorte County Sheriff’s Office is awaiting toxicology results.
