Goshen mother faces 37 years after three-month-old brought to hospital

A Goshen mother now faces 37 years in prison for injuries that left her three-month-old in the hospital.

Kyrie Brenneman was charged with two counts of neglect of a dependent resulting in catastrophic injury in September of 2022 as well as six counts of domestic battery with serious bodily injury to a person under 14.

Documents say doctors at Goshen Hospital contacted police to investigate possible abuse after a 3-month-old baby girl was brought in with a brain bleeding.

Brenneman initially told police that the baby’s father had dropped the baby on her head on the changing table, but eventually told police that it was her who had dropped the baby.

According to The Goshen News, documents say the child will likely require extensive medical care for most of her life. Brenneman was sentenced to 37 years in prison by a plea agreement.
