Three arrested in connection with 2022 deadly shooting

Police have arrested three individuals in connection to a fatal shooting that occurred nearly two years ago.
On December 2022, Michigan City Police responded to reports of gunfire in the 700 block of East 10th Street. Upon arrival, officers found 43-year-old Randy Edwards suffering from life-threatening injuries. A female victim had also been shot. Both were transported to Franciscan Health, where Edwards was later pronounced dead.
After a lengthy investigation, authorities have now arrested three suspects:
Lakeith Winters, 36, was taken into custody at his home on September 27. He faces multiple charges, including Murder, Attempted Murder, Aggravated Battery, and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm. His bond is set at $1 million cash only.
Joe Winters, 42, was apprehended during a traffic stop on the same day. He is charged with aiding and abetting in the murder, attempted murder, and aggravated battery. His bond is set at $100,000 cash only.
Shannon Winters, 40, was arrested in Chicago and awaits extradition to Indiana. He faces charges of Criminal Recklessness and Unlawful Carrying of a Handgun, with bond set at $15,000 cash only.
