Grape crop in local wine country looks great for this year

The best response to this year’s grape harvest in Southwest Michigan is…”cheers!”

Winemakers in the region report an excellent-looking crop this year, thanks to the spring and early summer rains followed by dry conditions. That’s perfect for the grapes, according to WSJM, since it results in lower stress on the mildew issues that can impact the crop.

It also slightly dehydrates the fruit, resulting in more concentrated flavors. Harvesting has already begun, and the result will be on store shelves by next April.
