Man arrested in weekend stabbing incident in Elkhart

A 20-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a stabbing that occurred early Saturday morning, Nov. 16, near Washington Garden Apartments. The victim, a 19-year-old male, sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the incident.
According to the Elkhart Police Department, officers were dispatched to the area around 5:51 a.m. on November 16 to investigate reports of two suspicious men. While searching the area, officers were approached by the victim near 336 Wagner Avenue. The man was suffering from an apparent stab wound. Police immediately provided aid and called for medics, who transported the victim for treatment.
Shortly afterward, officers apprehended a suspect near 326 Wagner Avenue. The suspect, identified as Quantrell Arshawn Moore, 20, of Elkhart, was arrested on a preliminary charge of Battery with a Deadly Weapon, a Level 5 felony.
An Elkhart County judicial officer reviewed the case, found probable cause for the arrest, and set Moore’s bond at $25,000. The case has been forwarded to the Elkhart County Prosecutor’s Office for further review and potential formal charges.
Authorities have not released further details regarding the circumstances of the stabbing.
