A man charged in a 2002 murder has been sentenced for the robbery part of his crime.
51-year-old Marcus Love was arrested for the death of Robert Reed, whose body was found with severe head and neck injuries.
The case remained unsolved until a witness came forward, claiming Love admitted to the murder.
Investigators also matched Love’s DNA to blood found at the scene.
Love denied the murder, and he denied being at Reed’s home, though he later admitted that he frequently visited the home.
The Goshen News says Love pleaded guilty to Robbery Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury, and he was sentenced to 35 years at the Indiana Department of Corrections and 5 years to be served on probation. The murder charge was dropped.
