A South Bend police officer has been arrested following an off-duty incident early Sunday morning.

Officer David Finn, 35, was taken into custody after South Bend Police were alerted to a potential domestic disturbance involving one of their own. Following an investigation, Finn was charged with misdemeanor domestic battery and is currently being held at the St. Joseph County Jail.

The department has relieved Finn of all police duties as criminal and internal investigations proceed.

Finn, who joined the force in July 2022, was already on restrictive duty due to a separate investigation related to another off-duty matter.

Authorities have not released further details about the ongoing cases.
