It was back on Nov. 18, that the LaPorte School Board voted to close Lincoln Elementary at the end of the school year as part of its 2025-2026 plan. On Monday night, Superintendent Dr. Sandra Wood outlined the next steps for the transition.
Enrollment numbers were a major factor in the closure, and the focus is now on what happens next for the school and its staff.
Dr. Wood presented a month-by-month plan to ensure a smooth process.
After the holiday break, district leaders will meet with Lincoln staff to discuss their placements within LaPorte Schools.
