Bill introduced in Lansing, aims to regulate towing prices

(95.3 MNC)

A bill was introduced in Lansing to regulate towing prices.

Cure Auto Insurance Lead Attorney Mitchell Myers says there are no statewide protections against immoral towing companies at the moment.

According to WSJM, there are rates that are authorized by Detroit Police in Detroit, but there are no statewide protections.

Myers says if companies aren’t abiding by rates, then vehicle owners can pursue civil suits. But, he says that it’s too expensive and takes too long for most people.

With the injuries and financial damage coming after car crashes, having no choice but to pay thousands of dollars to get the car back only makes the situation worse.
