Berrien County officials are warning of a new phone scam.

They say scammers are posing as law enforcement, claiming to be a Lieutenant Ian Dodd or Sergeant Dave Albers.

Scammers have been telling targets that they missed jury duty or that there is a warrant out for their arrest.

However, according to WSBT, the scammers are telling the targets that they can pay to fix the issue.

Officials are reminding residents that the police will never call and demand money, and they’re asking you to report the call if you receive one.
