Granger man arrested in multi-state drug investigation

A two-month, multi-state drug investigation came to a dramatic close on January 9, 2025, when Michigan authorities arrested a 37-year-old Granger, Indiana man during a traffic stop. Simultaneously, Indiana law enforcement executed a search warrant at a Granger apartment, uncovering drugs, weapons, and cash.

The investigation, initiated in November 2024, began when the Southwest Enforcement Team (SWET) in Michigan identified the man as a suspect in a drug-dealing operation. SWET, composed of Michigan State Police troopers and officers from other departments, collaborated with the Indiana State Police to track the suspect’s activities across state lines.

The operation culminated at approximately 7:45 p.m. on January 9, when SWET officers stopped the suspect’s vehicle on South 11th Street near Bertrand Road in Michigan. During the stop, authorities discovered approximately four ounces of suspected methamphetamine in the suspect’s possession.

Shortly after, the Indiana State Police Emergency Response Team, joined by Mishawaka and South Bend police, executed a search warrant at the suspect’s apartment in the 6000 block of Mission Trail in Granger. Inside, officers seized approximately 1.5 pounds of suspected methamphetamine, two ounces of suspected fentanyl, two hydraulic fentanyl presses, a handgun, a rifle, and $2,400 in cash.

The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the Berrien County Jail in Michigan.
