Governor Braun appoints Anthony Scott as Indiana State Police Superintendent

Rush County native Captain Anthony M. Scott has been named the 21st Superintendent of the Indiana State Police, Governor Mike Braun announced.

Scott, a 28-year veteran of the force, brings extensive experience to the role, having served in various leadership positions, including Versailles District Investigations Commander, District Commander, and most recently, Area IV Commander at the rank of Captain.

Born and raised in Rush County, Scott graduated from Rushville High School in 1992 before earning a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Cumberland College. His law enforcement journey began in 1996 when he joined the 54th Indiana State Police Recruit School, graduating as a Trooper assigned to the Versailles Post.

A graduate of the prestigious FBI National Academy’s 276th session in Quantico, Virginia, Scott has completed advanced training in leadership, communication, and fitness, solidifying his reputation as a dedicated professional.

“I am truly honored to have the opportunity to lead the outstanding men and women of the Indiana State Police and look forward to working with Governor Braun on his public safety initiatives,” Scott said in a statement.

Scott resides in Decatur County with his family, where he continues his commitment to serving the state.
