A man has pleaded guilty for an attempted armed robbery at an Elkhart gas station.

Officers responded to a fight in progress at Energy Oil Gas Station in July, later learning that it was a robbery in progress.

The victim reported that a man, Devin Haynes, had pickpocketed him in the store and acted like he had a gun in his sweatshirt, making threats to shoot him.

The victim reported that he punched the man in the face during the robbery and then ran away.

Officers located the suspect, and The Goshen News says Haynes was not found with a weapon, though he yelled to bystanders to go get his gun. His sentencing is scheduled for February 13.
