St. Joseph Department of Public Safety was called to battle flames at a large house fire in the 1500 block of State Street in St. Joseph.

It happened late Sunday night, Jan. 26.

Units arrived on scene to find one home heavily involved and the flames extending to a second home.

An aggressive fire attack held the bulk of the fire to the first house with most of the damage limited to the exterior of the second home.

There were no injuries but crews were challenged by cold and very slippery conditions.
