South Shore Line project raises concerns about potential property acquisition

Some South Bend homeowners say they are concerned after getting letters that their property might need to be acquired for the new South Shore Line in the city.
The train between the South Bend International Airport and downtown Chicago would run across Lincolnway West, run through Lynn Street and down Oak Street before meeting the current tracks off of Ardmore.
Vicky Magel is one of the homeowners who received a letter saying the talks to acquire her home and others could begin this fall.
She says her home has held all of the family’s holidays for years and she does not want to move.
