A high-speed chase involving a white Jaguar led to the arrest of two individuals after an intense pursuit across multiple highways.
It was around 9:50 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 4, when a LaPorte County Sheriff’s Deputy clocked the vehicle speeding eastbound on the Indiana Toll Road near the 56-mile marker. When the deputy attempted a traffic stop at the 62-mile marker, the driver refused to pull over, sparking a pursuit that continued until authorities ended it at the 72-mile marker.
Minutes later, a Flock Safety camera captured the Jaguar heading west on US 20 near the SR 2 ‘Dogbone’ Interchange. Deputies spotted the car again at US 20 and SR 39, initiating a second chase. The suspect led officers onto I-94, weaving westbound, then eastbound, before stopping near the 28-mile marker. The driver and passenger fled on foot.
The passenger was quickly caught, while the driver ran into a wooded area. With assistance from a Lake County Sheriff’s Department helicopter and a K-9 unit, officers tracked and apprehended the suspect.
The driver, Titus D. Long, 30, of Chicago, Illinois, suffered a K-9 bite and was taken to a hospital for treatment. The passenger, Adena R. Drury, 28, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, was also hospitalized for medical clearance.
Both were later booked into the LaPorte County Jail. Long faces felony and misdemeanor charges for resisting law enforcement, while Drury was charged with a misdemeanor. They remain in custody.
