House Bill 1531 – which covers various immigration-related topics – has passed the Indiana House. Attorney General Todd Rokita is now hoping it will pass the Senate.
HB 1531 determines that local and state officers may enforce federal immigration policies – something that has caused quite a bit of debate since it was suggested by President Trump.
The bill also allows the state Attorney General to take action against governmental groups that do not “comply” with certain detention orders, requires employers to avoid hiring illegal immigrants, and more.
In a video statement Thursday, Rokita called this “critical legislation” that is “great news for every law-abiding and tax-paying Hoosier.” He said it will help “stop the magnet that’s pulling illegals here, who consequently then drive up our crime and sex trafficking.”
The A.G. is now asking the State Senate to help “make Indiana safer and work to put an end to the immigration crisis.”

Yeah it needs to pass, I spent decades in the trade and can’t even get a job because I’m too legal the fact that I was born here and won’t work for $12 an hour.
