Two people were killed in a crash involving a minivan and a motorcycle on County Road 18, west of County Road 117.
The collision happened just before 3 p.m. on Wednesday, March 12, when a Chrysler Town and Country, driven by a 31-year-old Elkhart woman was traveling east on County Road 18 and tried to turn left into a private driveway. The vehicle turned in front of a westbound Harley Davidson Electra Glide Classic, failing to yield the right of way.
The motorcycle, operated by Jason E. Bleiler, 41, of Goshen, collided with the minivan after being laid down in an attempt to avoid the crash. Bleiler and his passenger, Crystal Woolums, 38, of Leesburg, were not wearing helmets and were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver and a passenger in the minivan were uninjured. Authorities have not issued citations at this time, pending further investigation.
