St. Joseph County Parks is moving forward with plans to develop a new county park on Anderson Road in Granger and is inviting the public to help shape its future…
There are three community meetings that are scheduled. The first is set for Tuesday night, March 18, 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Discovery Middle School. If you can’t attend that, there are two more meetings set for April and May. You can also share your thoughts through an online survey.
The proposed park spans more than 115 acres and is located in the northeast corner of St. Joseph County.
Potential features could include hiking trails, adventure programming, nature activities, and picnic shelters.
The online survey is available at www.sjcparks.org or www.sjcindiana.gov. The three public open house forums will take place at Discovery Middle School, located at 10050 Brummitt Road in Granger, from 6 to 8 p.m. on March 18, April 24, and May 29, 2025.
“Responses to the survey and feedback at the forums help us gauge what programs and amenities the community is interested in,” said Steve Slauson, director of St. Joseph County Parks. “It’s been 40 years since we developed a new county park, and we’re excited to bring this project to life.”
Community members are encouraged to participate in shaping the vision of the park, which officials say will serve as a valuable recreational space for generations to come.
