Friday’s State of the Child event in Elkhart aimed to help Hoosiers better support local youth.
The presentation covered both the challenges and progress Indiana children are experiencing.
Data from the Indiana Youth Institute showed issues like mental health struggles, but also positive trends, such as lower rates of substance use and suicide.
Attendees discussed the need for more parental education on mental health, better access to activities, and a stronger focus on ILEARN proficiency.
