The Educational Service Centers of Indiana has a new partnership with MagicSchool AI. That’s an AI platform being used in K-12 education and it’s already serving more than 31,000 educators in Indiana.
Darlene Kennedy, Director of Technology Integration at Northern Indiana Educational Services Center, says this is helping both students and teachers be more efficient in the classroom.
“AI has kind of been the wild wild west, but MagicSchool AI has uniquely brought this platform and streamlined is so that there are 50+ tools available,” said Kennedy.
Kennedy says it helps teachers create lesson plans, give writing feedback, and lighten the load of every day tasks.
“Then they create a safe environment for students to use AI as well,” said Kennedy.
The benefit of this program, according to Kennedy and its supporters, is that it’s putting a child’s educations back in their hands a little bit.
“Rather than waiting a week for feedback on a paper that they wrote or solving math problems, they can get immediate feedback with MagicSchool AI,” said Kennedy.
Kennedy says there are browser extensions now for Chrome which allows them to monitor the use of AI on student chromebooks that are managed by the school.
“We need to empower them to use it correctly because they will be using it after they graduate. To be clear, it’s not like can use MagicSchool AI to write a five-page paper,” said Kennedy.
