New lane restrictions on Ireland Road beginning Wednesday

(Jon Zimney/95.3 MNC)
Beginning Wednesday, May 27, new lane restrictions will be in place on Ireland Road between Michigan Street and Ironwood Drive as work continues on the Ireland Road Pavement Project.
Crews will begin the next phase of work, which includes installing new curbs in select areas, patching sections of roadway ahead of paving and shifting the southwest curb at the St. Joseph intersection to improve right turns for large vehicles, like semi-trucks.
Traffic on Ireland Road will be reduced to one lane in each direction between Michigan Street and Ironwood Drive. Lane restrictions are expected to remain in place through the end of June.
The Ireland Road Pavement Project includes paving a 2.8-mile stretch of Ireland Road from the western city limits to Ironwood Drive. Paving is expected to begin in June.
