Baugo Township Fire crew members are credited with helping save a woman from an apparent domestic situation.
Firefighters noticed a vehicle stop suddenly in front of their station, late Tuesday morning. A woman was seen shouting for help and trying to escape, but the man restrained her and drove off with the door still open.
Firefighters quickly began a foot pursuit while the Battalion Chief contacted police.
The vehicle was seen driving erratically, passing other cars and entering oncoming traffic.
At a nearby intersection, police used emergency lights to distract the driver, allowing the passenger to escape.
Firefighters took her to safety and provided medical assistance. The driver was reportedly apprehended shortly after.
