The Elkhart Police Department’s Peace Officers Memorial Service is happening on the afternoon of Friday, May 9.

The department honors and remembers fallen officers each May, recognizing the daily sacrifices of the law enforcement community.

Elkhart Mayor Rod Roberson and Second District Congressman Rudy Yakym will speak at the event, which is set to start at 5 p.m. on Central Green.
