Gov. Braun signs sweeping ban on marijuana advertising

(95.3 MNC)
Indiana Governor Mike Braun has signed a sweeping ban on marijuana advertising, effective immediately. House Bill 1390 targets ads from neighboring states like Illinois, Michigan, and Ohio, where recreational marijuana is legal.
The ban covers all forms of media, including social media, physical advertising, web ads, geo-targeted promotions and billboards although existing ad contracts are grandfathered in until 2035 and will not be fined under this new law. This preemptive strike aims to shield Hoosiers from the growing marketing efforts of neighboring states that have the legal right to sell and advertise Marijuana.
Starting now, The Attorney General’s office will enforce the ban, with fines starting at $5,000 and along with daily oversight of the new law in its entirety.

Okay Governor Braun. You have your “law” banning marijuana advertising in this state. I question the constitutionality of this. No doubt it will be challenged in court. How much taxpayer money will be spent on this. For crying out loud, START WORKING ON REAL PROBLEMS IN THIS STATE!! REAL property tax reform! Not feel-good reform! Property taxes, wheel taxes, State and local taxes! It’s beyond ridiculous!
