Driver injured after high-speed crash in Elkhart County

A man was injured late after losing control of his vehicle and crashing at the intersection of County Road 11 and County Road 6.
The crash occurred just before 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 29.
According to the report, a 2024 GMC Sierra was traveling north on CR 11 at a high rate of speed when the driver missed the turn at CR 6. The driver attempted to brake hard and turn right but lost control, causing the vehicle to skid, strike a guardrail, and overturn onto its roof.
The driver, a 55-year-old Elkhart man, was not wearing a seatbelt and reported pain, including a foot injury and back pain. No other passengers were in the vehicle.
The truck sustained extensive damage in the crash.
