The South Bend School Board rejected the only bid for multiple projects, including a medical magnet addition at Washington High School and restroom renovations at Dickinson, Darden, and Edison elementary schools.
The bid was about 35-40% above fair market value, totaling around $1.35 million.
CFO Ahnaf Tahmid said the board will rebid the projects to secure better pricing and ensure responsible use of taxpayer money.
