A busy start to Sunday for South Bend firefighters

One person had to escape through a first-floor window after a home caught fire on Miner Street in South Bend.

The blaze broke out just before 7 a.m. on Sunday, June 1.

In all, two people were displaced. So far, there’s no word about how the fire began. Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.

There were no injuries after home caught on fire on Orange Street in South Bend.

Deputies got the call before 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 1, and they arrived on the north side of the street, near the Martin Luther King Jr. Recreation Center.

Firefighters put the fire out fairly quickly. However, they didn’t say how the fire started.
