Female shot and killed near Southeast Park in South Bend

The South Bend Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit is actively investigating a homicide on the city’s southeast side.

On Saturday, June 7, around 8 p.m., South Bend Police were called to the 500 block of Wenger Street, near Southeast Park, on the report of a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers found a female victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. She was ultimately pronounced dead.

Several people were in the area when this shooting occurred.
