A two-vehicle crash on State Road 19, just south of County Road 28, resulted in the rollover of one vehicle and injuries to a 70-year-old woman from Elkhart.
The incident occurred at approximately 4:50 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 4, when Elkhart County Police say a 30-year-old woman from Warsaw was traveling northbound and slowed to a stop at the intersection, preparing to turn west. The Elkhart woman, traveling behind, tried to pass the vehicle on the left, but collided with the front driver’s side of the other vehicle and the rear passenger side of her own.
The force of the impact caused her vehicle to lose control and roll over five to six times before coming to rest on its roof.
The older woman was treated at the scene for head and wrist injuries before being taken to Elkhart General Hospital for further care. The other driver was not injured.
