A jury trial for a man accused of murdering his son has been rescheduled.

Ryan Snyder is accused of murdering his 2-year-old son Jaxon after an 18-hour standoff. Police responded to a welfare check after the child’s mother told them Snyder had threatened to kill their two children.

After the standoff, police found Jaxon dead and a 4-year-old alive.

A dispute over doctor-patient confidentiality for a psychiatric evaluation arose in court. However, The Goshen News states Snyder’s defense has not yet stated whether they plan to pursue an insanity defense.

A jury trial was rescheduled from November 3 to January 5.
