Two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash at County Road 4 and County Road 29.
According to the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office, the collision happened just before 8:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 15, when a 2013 Chrysler Town & Country crossed the center line while heading east on CR 4, striking the rear of a westbound 2019 Hyundai Tucson.
The impact caused the Tucson to spin off the south side of the road, while the van continued off the roadway and struck a tree.
The van’s driver suffered head and rib injuries and was cited for using a telecommunications device while driving. An 8-year-old passenger in the Tucson complained of head pain but was reported to be wearing a seat belt. The Tucson’s driver was not injured.
The crash remains under investigation by the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office.
