A Berrien Springs man has pleaded guilty to weapons charges after an incident last year.

38-year-old Darik Hunt was reportedly found to have possessed weapons and ammunition in December.

However, due to a conviction from over 11 years ago, he was prohibited from possessing the weapons.

Leader Publications says Hunt requested probation, though the judge claimed that the offenses are serious and sentenced him to two concurrent terms of 300 days in jail.
