Crash causes power outage in North Liberty on Sunday

(J. Tyler Klassen/Elkhart Truth)

A number of customers were left without power for several hours in North Liberty Sunday night after a single-vehicle crash.

Officials say it happened at the intersection of Tyler and Sycamore Roads when the driver struck a pole head-on after failing to navigate a curve. One person was transported with minor injuries.

NIPSCO crews reported roughly 1400 customers without power after the crash.
