Man shot while traveling in car in Elkhart

The Elkhart Police Department is investigating a shooting that happened near Wagner Avenue & Delaware Street after a gunshot wound victim walked into the hospital.

It was around 1:20 a.m. on Wednesday, Sep. 10, Elkhart Police Department officers dispatched to Elkhart General Hospital after an injured adult male walk-in victim arrived at the hospital with an apparent gunshot wound. Initial investigation indicates that the victim was traveling in a vehicle when he was struck by gunfire near the intersection of Wagner Ave. and Delaware St.

The victim sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries. At this time no arrests have been made, and this remains an active and ongoing investigation.
