South Bend Police investigating after apartments struck by gunfire

Police in South Bend are investigating after gunfire struck two occupied apartments late Saturday night on the city’s west side.
Officers were called to Beacon Heights Apartments around 10:40 p.m. Saturday, Sep. 13, on reports of shots fired.
Responding officers searched the area and discovered two residences had been hit by gunfire. No injuries were reported.
Detectives with the department’s Violent Crimes Unit are asking anyone with information to contact the Detective Bureau at 574-235-9263. Tips, photos and videos can also be submitted anonymously through Michiana Crime Stoppers at p3tips.com/203.
Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for tips leading to an arrest in gun violence cases.
