I&M Power warning of scams

I&M Power is focusing on all types of safety, including ensuring customers stay safe from scams.

I&M says some scams customers may see are text messages stating that you have an overdue balance on your monthly bill which must be paid immediately.

However, they say to look for warning signs before panicking. I&M says they will never send a text communicating late payment, nor will they threaten to disconnect on the first notice of a late payment.

They also say the scams can happen in person, where an individual claiming to be with I&M is looking to gain information or access inside the home. If you suspect a possible scam attempt, contact the I&M customer experience team.
