Investigators say 70-year-old Rafael Flores killed his wife, 70-year-old Deonicia Marroquin Flores, and then shot himself, Saturday, in Topeka.

Deputies with the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Office responded to a welfare check at the couple’s home on State Road 5. When they couldn’t reach anyone, a family member entered and found both dead.

Police continue to investigate what might have sparked the shootings.
